A Crystal River, FL energy facility replaced a clumsy folding ladder with a cantilevered ErectaStep access platform, which safely reaches over existing piping to a service valve, providing secure, OSHA-compliant access for routine operations and emergency shutdowns.
This custom-configured cantilevered platform utilizes ErectaStep’s modular access platforms to provide elevated, slip-resistant access to the valve, eliminating the need for portable ladders or makeshift solutions. Pre-engineered components are designed to meet or exceed OSHA requirements for tread depth, riser height, and handrail specifications, helping the facility maintain continuous compliance while improving worker confidence at the point of use.
Because ErectaStep’s modular metal stairs and platforms bolt together with just five core components, the system was installed quickly with minimal disruption to plant operations and no custom on-site fabrication.
